Raccoon Valley Radio has selected our $1,000 Christmas Cash Giveaway winner.

Nicholle Cross of Adel qualified for the prize at a remote broadcast as part of the Caring Christmas Food Drive at the Adel Fareway.

“I was just there talking with (Raccoon Valley Radio General Manager) John (McGee) and Tammy () I thought, I better sign up for that, we could use it and I didn’t think about it again.  Got home last night and my husband said the radio station called and I started thinking about it and I was like ‘Oh, I must have won!’ and sure enough, I did.”

So how did she feel when she returned that phone call?

“I was shaking.  I was so excited because we could really use the money.  it was excellent.”

So now with an extra $1,000 in her pocket just in time for the holidays, how will our big winner spend the cash?

“I’m going to be responsible and pay some bills and then use the rest on Christmas.”

Cross encourages everyone to enter into the Raccoon Valley Radio contests when they have the opportunity because “you never know when it will be your time.”

The fourth annual Caring Christmas Food Drive collected thousands of pounds of food for area food shelves in Dallas, Greene and Guthrie counties.
