The Greene County Action Resource Center is gearing up for the Christmas holiday push and are in need of items.
Site Manager Diane Blackmer says they are in need of canned soup, boxed pasta mixes, cookies, cake mixes, syrup and canned fruit. Toiletry items that are needed include laundry detergent, gender neutral deodorant like Arm & Hammer and Arrid XX and shampoo. Last month, the ARC served about 81 families and 218 individuals. The ARC is normally open every Wednesday, but they will be closed Wednesday, December 23rd. They will be open this Saturday from 9:30am to noon.
You can also donate non-perishable food items or make a monetary donation during our Caring Christmas Food Drives this week in Jefferson. The Big Red Radio will be at the Jefferson Hy-Vee tomorrow morning from 10am to noon, sponsored by Motor Inn of Carroll; Greene County Farm Bureau sponsors Thursday’s broadcast at Hy-Vee from 4 to 6pm; and we’ll be at Wild Rose Jefferson from 2 to 4pm on Friday.
When you make a donation during our broadcasts, you can enter into the drawing for our $1,000 Christmas Cash Giveaway.
