In her one and only season on the Greene County High School varsity volleyball team, senior Katelyn Hagen became one of the top percentage servers in the state. Hagen was successful on 270 of 274 serves for a success rate of 98.5 percent. She told Raccoon Valley Radio she remembers the four misses. “One of them was at a tournament, the first one was. Oh  my gosh, I was so mad!” Hagen talks about the progression of her serves. “I started off with an easy serve, which was a float serve. Then I turned it into a harder serve so the competitors would have more of a challenge with it, so I turned it into a spinning serve that would drop more. That’s when I missed my four serves, and I had to jump serve, and that was harder, too. That was definitely the reason I missed those four.”

The Rams were 15-22 for the season and seven of the teams they lost to played this week in the State Tournament in Cedar Rapids.
