A Perry Elementary School teacher has been selected as the 2015 Teacher of Promise.

Robert Benesh received the Iowa World Language Association’s award last month at the organization’s annual conference.

Benesh recently graduated from the University of Iowa with a Masters of Arts degree in teaching and has endorsements in English as a Second Language and Japanese.

A former professor describes him as “inquisitive, thoughtful, iconoclastic and sensitive to the needs of his students.

Superintendent Lynn Ubben congratulated Benesh and says they know they have a great staff in the Perry Community School District and it’s nice to be recognized by others.
