All that’s left in the Iowa high school volleyball season is next week’s State Tournament. Greene County finished with a 15-22 record under Head Coach Donna Carhill. The Rams started the season with junior hitter Nadia Fisher as the only one who had ever played in a varsity match. Fisher now has several teammates who have a year of varsity experience and she talked about the 2016 season. “We’ll have a good, solid group that were juniors this year, then we’ll have this year’s sophomores that will be coming up to help us out. I think we can be pretty good next year. We’re going to work a lot in the off season. We plan on playing AAU volleyball, and we’re talking about doing some things in the summer, getting together and playing as a team more.”

The State Tournament will have no fewer than five teams the Rams played this season. That list includes Heart of Iowa Activities Conference champion Nevada, as well as Kuemper Catholic (Carroll), the team that defeated the Rams in the opening round of the Class 3A postseason.
