dallas countyAs we mentioned, voter turnout was low across Dallas County Tuesday.

The Mayor and at-large city council member elections in Perry received the most votes with just 194 ballots cast.  Jay Pattee received 181 votes to win his mayoral re-election campaign while incumbent Chuck Schott received 185 votes to win another term on the city council.

Forty votes were cast in Perry’s third ward with incumbent Barb Wolling receiving 37 of them and 42 write-in votes were cast for the open seat in ward one.

According to results from August’s special election, there are around 4,005 registered voters in Perry.  That equates to a voter turnout of just 4.8 percent.

In Adel. 288 votes were cast for the mayor’s race with current mayor Jim Peters receiving 270 of them.  There were five candidates vying for three at-large city council seats and a total of 941 votes were cast with Bob Ockerman, Shirley McAdon and Michael Haynes each winning a spot.

August’s election results showed there were around 2,875 registered voters in Adel, which means Tuesday’s voter turnout was around 10 percent.

All results are unofficial until canvassed by the County Supervisors during a special meeting at 4pm tomorrow in Adel.
