The annual Greene County High School football awards night and potluck supper was held Tuesday night in the middle school gym in Jefferson. The Rams were 4-5 in 2015 and missed qualifying for the Class 3A playoffs, ending a streak of six streak seasons in the postseason.

Letters and other awards were presented by Head Coach Dean Lansman and the assistant coaches. Noah Juergensen became a rare four-time football letter winner. Other seniors lettering and the number of football letters earned include Tyler Beger (3), Daric Whipple (3), Max Neese (3), Keyden Pollock (3), Ben Lint (3), Matthew Gordon (3), Mitchell Gorsuch (3), Joe Thede (2), Reid Lamoureux (2), Anthony Cunningham (1), Wade Wuebker (1). Foreign exchange student Chris Nolle also lettered.

Juniors lettering and the number of letters earned include Nick Schroeder (3), Chase Stoline (2), Logan Lansman (2), Trey Tucker (1), Calvin Skalla (1), Anthony Jacobsen (1), Dylan Fouch (1), Hunter Ruth (1), Dylan Smith (1), Hunter Kinney (1).

Sophomores Jake Berns and Charlie Gunn lettered for the first time.

Manager letter winners are Lindsey Paulsen, Cassidy Adamson, Gabby Pollock, and Ian Jensen.

Gordon, Juergensen, Neese, and Whipple were named team captains. Whipple was named MVP and Offensive MVP. Pollock received the Tony Andrusyk award as the top defensive player. The Scheuermann/McCabe award for the top offensive lineman went to Juergensen. Schroeder received the Steven Silbaugh award as the top special teams player. The Allensworth Cup went to Thede as the most improve lineman. The Ben Carman award for hustle was presented to Neese. Cunningham received the most improved player award.

All-Academic awards were presented to Stoline, Lamoureux, Tucker, Beger, Whipple, Skalla, Jacobsen, Fouch, Neese, Ruth, Lint, Gordon, Juergensen, Wuebker, and Thede.

Lamoureux, Juergensen, and Neese have been nominated for the Iowa Football Coaches Association All-State Academic consideration. Whipple and Juergensen have been nominated by the coaching staff for the 2016 Shrine Bowl, and Whipple, Juergensen, and Gordon have been nominated for all-state honors.

Webster City won Class 3A District 2 and is 11-0 and still alive in the playoffs. The Lynx closest game this season was a 36-34 victory in Jefferson. Once WC has completed its season, the all-district selections can be released.
