Guthrie-ISU-Ext-Guthrie-County-Fair-1-4-SkyThe Women Managing Crops Course will begin this week in Guthrie County. Designed to teach women some of the basics of agriculture, Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Ag and Farm Management Specialist Shane Ellis says the program is the first of its kind. “This will actually be the very first Women Managing Crops course taught in this state. This will be a pilot program we’ll be starting. Many of the programs, as part of Annie’s Project, are kind of demand-driven. If there is a group of people wanting to do the program and they let their local Extension office know, they’ll all they can to bring that program to their county.”

Ellis will tell us more about the program today on Let’s Talk Guthrie County. It airs during the 9 a.m., noon and 5 p.m. hours on K107.9 and www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
