Greene County Supervisors to Meet Tomorrow

The Greene County Board of Supervisors will meet tomorrow morning.

A public hearing will be held at 9am for a pork expansion project and the Board is expected to make their recommendation to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources following the hearing.

The Board will then consider approving a joint consent agreement with Webster County for an Iowa Department of Transportation project and payment release to drainage district 2, the county’s health insurance renewal and a resolution authorizing an application for a Workforce Housing Loan Program through the Iowa Finance Authority.

The meeting will be at 8:30am in the boardroom of the courthouse in Jefferson.
Jefferson Does to Serve Election Day Meal

While Greene County residents are out casting their votes on Tuesday, the Jefferson BPO Does will be serving their annual Election Day Soup Luncheon.

The menu includes homemade vegetable beef soup, pies, rolls and a drink for $6 per person.  Does member Shirley Danielson says they usually serve about 100 people for their annual fundraiser.  All proceeds will go toward local projects that the Does support throughout the year.

The luncheon will be at the Jefferson Elks Lodge from 11am to 1pm on Tuesday.  Tickets are available from any Does member or at the door.  Take-outs will also be made available.
