West Central Valley’s wrestlers have had their body fat tested. Activities Director Tod Broman says the practice acts as a safety measure. “This is a way for them to determine how much weight can they safely lose. If they shoot for a goal of 7 percent body fat, this gives them an idea of how much extra weight they can lose and what would be their lowest wrestling weight.”
The test is required for all high school wrestlers in Iowa before the beginning of the season.
