Although no runners from Greene County qualified for the 2015 State Coed Cross-Country Meet north of Ft. Dodge, the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference will be well represented. Long known as a running conference, the HOIAC will have both girls and boys teams from Gilbert in the Class 3A field, and both girls and boys squads from North Polk (Alleman) in the 2A field. In addition, The Saydel boys have two individuals and Nevada has one in 3A, and CMB (Maxwell), Roland-Story (Story City), and PCM (Monroe) will each have one qualifier for boys in 2A. CMB and PCM also have one girl in the 2A field.

Greene County coach Kelly Simpson has long maintained that when it comes to cross-country and track & field, the HOIAC is as good as it gets for schools of its size. The results in both sports bear that out, and the conference is hoping to add more hardware and medals tomorrow.
