About 50 Greene County residents joined in an effort to provide relief to refugees in the Middle East.

Earlier this week, the three Presbyterian churches in the county, including Jefferson, Grand Junction and Paton, packed 200 hygiene kits as part of the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance program.  The kits contain a washcloth and towel, Band-aids, soap, toothbrush and nail clippers.  They will be shipped to Arkansas and then taken overseas with all the other kits from other Presbyterian congregations.

The event took place at the Presbyterian Church in Jefferson, where youth groups and adult volunteers were also treated to a meal and enjoyed fellowship while helping out those in need with the national humanitarian relief effort.
