Greene County High School will be represented at next month’s Special Olympics State Bowling competition.
Tosha Harvey won first place in her age division earlier this month at the North Central Area Special Olympics at Fort Dodge’s Ridgewood Lanes. Other students receiving honors include Ian Jensen in second place in his age division, Kelly Martin in second place in her age division and Nick Walsh received third place in his age division.
Co-coach Deb Rogers says all athletes practiced for several weeks before the competition at the local bowling alley, Sparetime Lanes in Jefferson. New this year are the team t-shirts from ShineOne Designs which includes the Special Olympics’ logo, the Greene County Ram logo and their names on the back of the shirt.
Coaches and volunteers who also attended the competition were Sue Lansman, Jeri Gettler, Mona Weltz, Jade Milledge, Brenda Martin and Barb Murphy.
The state contest will be in Des Moines on November 21st.
