Abbey Harris, Rylan Heffernan and Tyler McKibben will represent West Central Valley at the state cross country meet in Fort Dodge this weekend. Head coach Michael Vokes says the atmosphere at state is an exciting one. “It’s a lot of things, but it’s fun number one. It really sets you apart from the first meet of the year when you’re on that line in a much smaller year. I always tell the kids that it’s going to feel fast, because you’ve got the best of the best up there.”

The girls race begins at 1 p.m. Saturday and the boys race at 1:30 p.m. at the Lakeside Muncipal Golf Course in Fort Dodge.
