Michael Herbert is running for one of three open at-large seats on the Guthrie Center City Council.
Herbert has over two decades of experience serving the public as a law enforcement officer. Before joining the Guthrie County Sheriff’s office in August 2013, he spent 16 years as a Guthrie Center Police Officer and three years as Chief of Police.
Since July 1st of this year, Herbert is again serving the citizens of Guthrie Center via a 28E agreement the Sheriff’s office has with the City.
He’s running for City Council because he has concerns about the future of Guthrie Center. “Small towns go by the wayside and end up getting smaller and smaller. I want to help just a little bit in trying to keep Guthrie Center from dying out, by helping to get more businesses here. I want to assist the City with helping to grow a little bit by doing something different and thinking outside the box.”
We’ll feature a different Guthrie Center City Council candidate each day this week. The election is next Tuesday, November 3rd.
