Jefferson Business Wins Second Iowa Tourism Award in Three Years

A Jefferson business received its second award at last week’s Iowa Tourism Conference.

RVP~1875/History Boy Theatre Company won the Outstanding Retail Experience Award from Travel Iowa and the Travel Federation of Iowa.  It is given to a retailer that provides a tourism experience for customers.  Co-owners Robby and Angie Pedersen could not be more proud.  Robby says they offer a unique experience for people that they get to see how furniture was made in the 1800’s.  He points out that more businesses are using the same model of allowing customers see how they make their products.

The award is an off-shoot of a previous award that RVP won in 2013, when it was named as the Outstanding Tourism Business.  The award has since been divided into three categories including lodging, restaurant and retail experience.

RVP~1875 is a furniture store that makes handcrafted, one-of-a-kind furniture from the 1800’s.  History Boy Theatre Company is a locally owned theater that’s located inside the same building as the furniture store.
