The ADM football team heads to a place it has never won Friday night, as the Tigers finish the regular season in Harlan against the Cyclones.

The Tigers (3-5, 1-4) have had some memorable games against the Cyclones, including last season, when ADM ended Harlan’s 19-year postseason streak with a 35-30 home win.

A year later, Harlan  (7-1, 4-1) is back in the postseason while ADM has lost four straight and was eliminated from playoff contention two weeks ago.

The first three games of the Tigers’ four-game losing streak, all of which were against district teams, were games ADM kept close and had a chance to win but let slip away in the second half. ADM head coach Mike Whisner said he uses the positive moments from those game films as evidence to his team it can compete with the best.

“Well, we did that when we watched those films and we move on each week to the next game,” Whisner said. “And we may use that as a focus point of, ‘We’ve seen you do this, you just need to finish up.’ It’s kind of the tale of we finished some games early in the season and ended up winning them, we came out — and honestly, we had some some really good competition here these last four weeks — and we came out and got after them and we just didn’t finish the game.

“Part of it is from adjustments, the other team adjusted and we didn’t keep on doing the things we did well in the second half from the first half. We move on and we coach them up on the things they do well and try to adjust on the things we need to get better at.”

ADM and Harlan kick off at 7:30 p.m. Friday, while our pregame coverage begins at 7 on K107 and raccoonvalleyradio.com/listen-live.
