The Lights On Afterschool celebration continues today as Perry’s Academic Cultural and Enrichment Services gets ready for their annual program.
Director Mary Hillman says the celebration starts with some recognition.
“We will be doing our annual awards for our light bulb coloring contest for grades pre-k through second. Our third graders do a wonderful poster contest for Lights On Afterschool and our fourth and fifth graders write essays. Then we have our annual talent show so each grade level will be doing a talent and so that’s always really fun for the parents and people to see.”
It will continue with some guest speakers and words from some of the program’s partners, followed by a beef burger supper.
The program takes place starting at 5pm in the elementary school multipurpose room.
Hillman will tell us more as we wrap up our conversation during today’s Let’s Talk Dallas County on AM 1310 KDLS and FM 99.7.
