Greene County stepped up two classes in size at Saturday’s Johnston volleyball tournament and came up empty in the win column. The Rams, a Class 3A program, lost all three matches in pool play to three 5A schools, then lost to 4A Bondurant-Farrar in the consolation bracket.

The day started with a 7-21, 14-21 loss to Dowling Catholic (West Des Moines). The Rams went three sets with Marshalltown, but fell 4-21, 24-22, 12-15, before losing to Pleasant Valley 8-21, 8-21. Greene County lost to B-F, 6-25, 12-25 in consolation play.

The Rams fall to 14-21 with the four losses. They’ll close the regular season tonight in Perry against the Jayettes in non-conference play.
