Friday, October 16th

A deputy was dispatched to the 400 block of South 15th Street in Grand Junction to investigate a trespassing and theft concern.

A deputy was dispatched to McMahon Access to investigate the report of the illegal dumping of yard waste and discarded housing materials.

A deputy was advised of a vehicle experiencing mechanical problems on Highway 144 near Rippey.

A deputy was dispatched to the 200 block of East Hager Street in Grand Junction for the report of what was thought to be gunshots and yelling. The deputy was unable to locate the source of the sounds.

Saturday, October 17th

A deputy was advised of debris on the roadway on S Avenue South of 220th Street.

A deputy was dispatched to a farm field on 225th Street west of Jefferson for the report of an abandoned golf cart. It was later determined that several youth had gone fishing and left the golf cart at that location.

Several deputies were dispatched to the 2000 block of Neola Avenue to investigate a trespassing concern. The deputy and the Chief Deputy Sheriff advised the male subject to stay clear of the property and not to harass others in the neighborhood.

A deputy was dispatched to the Sparky’s One Stop in Rippey for a possible harassment concern.

The Jefferson Fire Department and a deputy responded to a small field fire on 320th Street near K Avenue. The fire was extinguished quickly with little crop damage.

A deputy was asked to speak with a juvenile male in the 700 block of School Street in Churdan about a family altercation and concern.

A deputy was asked to pick up a credit card that was found in Scranton.

A deputy was dispatched for the report of the illegal dumping of household furniture at the intersection of 330th Street and W Avenue.

A deputy spoke with a resident in the 2100 block of Neola Avenue about a male subject continually driving by their residence.

A deputy was dispatched to the 400 block of Howard Street in Rippey to investigate criminal mischief to the paint on a vehicle.

A deputy was out of position and unable to assist with a high speed vehicle chase on A Avenue involving  Carroll County Deputies. The male was taken into custody by Carroll County Deputies.

A deputy was dispatched to the 300 block of 17th Street in Grand Junction for the report of vehicle revving their engine. That vehicle was not located upon the deputy’s arrival.

A deputy located a reported erratic and careless driver on Highway 30 near Jefferson. The vehicle was followed and the driver’s skills were evaluated and allowed to continue.

A deputy assisted a Jefferson Police Officer with a traffic stop in Jefferson.

Sunday, October 18th

A deputy assisted a Jefferson Police Officer, while the officer was on another call, with responding to a burglary and theft call in the 800 block of West South Street in Jefferson.

A deputy initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle driving erratically on highway 30 near S Avenue and subsequently arrested Jacob Benjamin Brown 23, of Lewis, Iowa, for Driving on the Wrong Side of a Two Way Highway and OWI, 2nd Offense.

A deputy was dispatched to the 2100 block of Neola Avenue for a harassment concern. The deputy spoke with the landowner about the concern.

A deputy was dispatched to the 400 block of South 19th Street in Grand Junction regarding a noise concern.

A deputy was dispatched to the 1100 block of Eagle Street in Scranton for the report of a loud vehicle driving recklessly around town. The vehicle was not located upon the deputy’s arrival.

A deputy was assisted by a Jefferson Police Officer and an Iowa State Patrol Officer with a one vehicle accident near Wall Street and North Grimmell Street near Jefferson.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
