A truck vs semi accident results in one injury and both vehicles totaled in Greene County.
Greene County Chief Deputy Jack Williams says at 2:56pm, two members of the Sheriff’s office, the Jefferson Fire Department, Greene County Emergency Medical Services and the Iowa State Patrol responded to the crash at 320th Street and Quest Avenue, about two miles southeast of Cooper.
Iowa State Trooper Brady Clary tells Raccoon Valley Radio that a semi, driven by Douglas Plath of Ogden, was traveling north on Quest Avenue when he slowed down to turn west onto 320th Street and for some unknown reason, the driver of a Ford F-150 truck, that was following the semi, struck the rear end of the grain trailer. The driver of the pickup, Chris Henning, was taken to Greene County Medical Center by Greene County EMS with non-life threatening injuries. Plath wasn’t injured in the accident and was wearing his seat belt. Airbags deployed in Henning’s vehicle, but no information is available at this time whether or not she was wearing her seat belt.
The pickup and the trailer are total losses and Clary adds that possible charges are pending completion of the investigation.
Raccoon Valley Radio will bring you more information as it becomes official.
