Paton-Churdan is celebrating their Homecoming this week.
Principal Annie Smith says this year’s theme is “Hollywood.” The Homecoming king and queen coronation ceremony happened on Sunday where Noah Juergenson was crowned king and Carleigh Paup was crowned as queen. Other king candidates include Scot Picknell, Cordero Reed, Joe Thede, Shane Halbur and Kourtlin Thacker. Other queen candidates include Laynne Flinn, Kasey Miller, Sydney Koch, Reilly Niles, Tabby Consier and Samantha Joy.
Each day also has a theme for students and staff to dress up. Today is pajama day, Tuesday is favorite movie character day, Wednesday is 1980’s fitness day, Thursday is farmer and western day and Friday is a combination Rams and Rockets spirit day where students can either wear red and white in support of the Greene County Rams football team or orange and black for the Rockets.
Since Paton-Churdan has kindergarten through 12th grade in one building, Smith points out that a couple times this week, younger kids will get to do activities with the older kids. She says it’s a great opportunity for the students to work together.
“It’s awesome, that’s what it’s all about. We have an opportunity not only for those youngers to have an older role model, but it also gives an incentive for our older kids to be good role models for those younger kiddos.”
Paton-Churdan will also participate in the parade in Jefferson on Friday at 2pm followed by the home football game with the Greene County Rams playing the Perry Bluejays at 7:30pm.
