Thursday, October 1st

A deputy was dispatched for the report of a deer carcass on the roadway on 237th Street west of Jefferson.

A deputy was dispatched to Grand Junction to check the welfare of a female that had not contacted anyone for several days. The female was found to be safe in another town.

A deputy responded to the 1100 block of Eagle Street in Scranton for a loud music concern.

A deputy was dispatched to the 300 block of T Avenue to help mediate a verbal domestic altercation.

Friday, October 2nd

Five members of the Greene County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a residence in the 2400 block of 180th Street. Items were seized and the investigation is ongoing at this time.

A deputy assisted a Jefferson Police Officer with locating the driver of a vehicle that drove away from the Casey’s General Store in Jefferson without paying for the gas. The Grand Junction resident had returned to the store before the deputy located her.

A deputy assisted a Jefferson Police Officer with locating a driver that was reported to be driving without a valid driver’s license. The vehicle was located in Grand Junction and the driver of that vehicle was valid.

A deputy responded to the 1000 block of Main Street East in Grand Junction and arrested Kurtis Bradley Hicks Langfitt 25, of Dana, on three outstanding Greene County warrants.

A deputy was unable to locate a reported suspicious vehicle on 250th Street at the Boone and Greene County line.

Saturday, October 3rd

A deputy was asked to help the Department of Human Services with the transport of a juvenile male from the Cherokee Regional Hospital to the Central Iowa Youth shelter in Fort Dodge.

A deputy was dispatched to a semi-tractor grain trailer in the ditch on A Avenue just north of 320th Street. The semi was actually on the Carroll County side and covered by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office.

A deputy was asked to assist the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office with checking on a Scranton resident that was involved in the previous traffic accident in Carroll County.

A deputy and the Sheriff were dispatched to investigate and assist Greene County EMS with an unattended death in Scranton.

A deputy was dispatched to a two vehicle accident that occurred at the intersection of 220th Street and Pioneer Avenue. A 2002 Ford Taurus that was being driven by Emily Marie Most 18, of Jefferson was eastbound on Highway 30 and attempting to turn north onto Pioneer Avenue when a 2005 Chevrolet Cavalier being driven by Mikayla Jo Hockenberry  20, of Guthrie Center failed to stop and rear-ended the Most vehicle. Damage to the Most vehicle was estimated to be $800. Damage to the Hockenberry car was estimated to be $7500 and Mikayla Hockenberry was issued a citation for Failure to Maintain Control. No injuries were reported and the airbags in both vehicles deployed.

A deputy checked a vehicle that was experiencing mechanical problems on 235th Street east of Jefferson. The owner soon removed the vehicle from along the roadway.

A deputy removed some metal debris from the roadway on 235th Street near the S curves.

Sunday, October 4th

A deputy towed a vehicle from the roadway in the 800 block of 310th Street. The vehicle was void of any registration and vehicle plate identification.

A deputy was asked to assist a Des Moines Police Officer with a possible assault that occurred in Grand junction.

A deputy was advised of the theft of an I Phone 4 from a residence in the 800 block of Percival Street in Grand Junction.

A deputy transported a dog from 500 block of West Hager Street in Grand Junction to be quarantined at the Jefferson Veterinary Clinic after it attacked another dog.

A deputy was advised of a gas drive off from the Paton Pit Stop in Paton. The driver of the vehicle was located in Carroll County and advised she would return and pay for the fuel.

A deputy was dispatched to the 1100 block of Eagle Street in Scranton for a property line fence dispute.

A deputy was advised of a horse running at large in the 400 block of 210th Street. The owner of the horse was located.

In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
