The second annual 3K Color-A-Thon will take place later this month in Churdan.

Paton-Churdan Principal Annie Smith says last year, they started the fundraiser to purchase a new scoreboard and team chairs for the school’s gym.  She was thrilled by the response it got and so they are looking to raise even more funds this year.  The proceeds will go toward continued athletic improvements such as new mats, a gym floor and stage curtains.

The race route will be throughout Churdan with different color stations.  At the end of the event there will be a tailgate party with a DJ and other kinds of entertainment.  Today is the deadline to register to get a free t-shirt and color packet.  The fee is $30 per person.  The 3K fun run and walk will be on October 17th with check-ins to begin at 8am at the school and the race to start at 9am.

Smith notes that they will accept registrations after today’s deadline, but those individuals won’t receive a t-shirt or color packet.
