The Guthrie Center Fire Department will support one of their own at a freewill offering breakfast this weekend. Proceeds from the meal, silent auction and raffle will go towards the medical costs of retired firefighter Gordon Badger. It takes place Sunday from 7 a.m.-1 p.m. at the fire hall.

Badger’s daughter, Jolinda, says she’s thankful for the firefighters in helping her organize the event. “They’re like brothers and sisters. They really come together and do well for the community. They look over each other. Dad was on the department for close to twenty years and they look after him.”
