In a rare Monday tournament for Coach Donna Carhill’s Greene County High School volleyball team, the Rams won two of three matches in Story City at the Norsemen Invitational. The Rams opened with a 22-20, 21-5 victory over Madrid in the best two of three format to 21 points. Greene County lost to BCLUW (Conrad) 18-21, 16-21, before winning two of three sets from R-S, a team that had beaten the Rams during Heart of Iowa Activities Conference play earlier this month. On Monday, it was the Rams coming out on top by scores of 16-21, 21-18, 15-7.
Greene County is 10-12 in sets and is off until Tues., Oct. 6 when they play in the middle school gym in Jefferson vs. Gilbert and Boone starting at 5 p.m.
