The Greene County Chamber is asking for the public’s help to increase tourism through the use of online media.

Chamber Tourism and Events Coordinator Angie Pedersen says tourism is going more toward using online and internet-based applications to help people plan their trips.  Gone are the days when people use brochures and plan every detail out.  Nowadays people pick a place to go to and use their smartphones to check out the attractions and where to eat.  One way that people plan their trips is through TripAdvisor.

Pedersen encourages everyone to go onto TripAdvisor’s website and rate and review the attractions and businesses in Greene County.

“A two minute little job for you, could really change how our businesses and attractions are perceived by visitors.  As a business owner, I so appreciate anyone who will write a review of our business.”

She adds that you can login with a Facebook account or create a new one for TripAdvisor.  Pedersen sees this being a key part to helping to drive even more tourism in the county.
