No one was hurt but a vehicle was severely damaged in a fire near Scranton on Sunday.

Greene County Sheriff Steve Haupert says at 4:23pm, a deputy and the Scranton Fire Department responded to a silage chopper fire in the 1500 block of F Avenue.

Haupert says they believe the fire started after dry corn stalks got caught in the 2006, self-propelled Clouse Silage Chopper’s engine.  The owner, Mike Minnehan, noticed smoke coming from the engine and was able to exit the vehicle before it was fully engulfed in flames.

No one was hurt in the incident, but the chopper sustained $200,000 in damages.
