The Stuart and Menlo Fire Departments battled a small fire at Stuart’s Economy Inn motel Monday morning.
Authorities responded to the blaze at about 8:30 a.m. Stuart Police Sergeant Ryan Harding says the fire was confined to a single guestroom in the motel.
No injuries were reported from the incident and damage to the building is still being assessed. Harding says the cause of the fire is suspicious, though no charges have been filed yet.
