Greene County High School junior Olivia Hansen and the rest of the Rams run today on the Lake Panorama Par 3 Golf Course for the Panorama Coed Cross-Country Invitational. Hansen, the top runner for the Greene County girls, has run the course on more than one occasion and she told Raccoon Valley Radio the course “Is my least favorite. It is the hardest, but Coach said to treat it like a glorified practice and to go out and try our best, so that’s what I’m going to try and do.” The course is hilly with some tight turns, so it provides a challenge to most runners.

Hansen and her teammates started somewhat slowly this season, but are now picking up the pace. “So far, so good,” Hansen said of the 2015 season, and she added, “I’ve dropped about 40 seconds every race, so I’d say that’s an accomplishment.” This is the first year girls run the same five kilometers (3.1 miles) distance as the boys, which some are still adjusting to.

Some 25 schools are scheduled to participate in today’s Panorama Invitational.
