Former standout ADM athlete Lane Hovey has taken advantage of an increased opportunity with the Nebraska Cornhuskers through two games.
The redshirt junior has already surpassed his production as a wide receiver from last season, when he caught five passes for 59 yards and was used primarily on special teams.
Thanks to the graduation of several key receivers, the walk-on is proving his worth this season: Hovey has caught seven balls for 85 yards, both totals ranking fourth on the team.
Nebraska (1-1) continues a renewed rivalry this Saturday when the Huskers head to the University of Miami for a showdown with the Hurricanes. The Huskers beat Miami in Lincoln last season, 41-31.
