Two weekend accidents in Greene County result in citations, vehicle damages and minor injuries.
According to the Greene County Sheriff’s office, at 4:26am on Saturday a deputy and Greene County Emergency Medical Services responded to a crash in the 100 block of X Avenue. 20 year-old Lexie Rae Crimmins of Fort Dodge was traveling north on X Avenue when she lost control of her 2014 Ford Fiesta and went into a ditch, striking a utility pole. Crimmins was taken to Trinity Regional Medical Center in Fort Dodge with non-life threatening injuries. The vehicle was a total loss and damage to the pole, that’s used by Alliant Energy, was $8,000.
The second single vehicle crash happened early Sunday morning. A deputy responded to a call at 10:36am just east of N Avenue on 210th Street. 22 year-old Joshua Adam Kennedy of Jefferson lost control of his vehicle on 210th Street, heading into the ditch. Kennedy left the scene of the accident and notified a towing service to retrieve his vehicle. Sheriff Steve Haupert says anytime a tow service is called for an accident, the companies notify his office to check to make sure an accident report was filed. No damage was done to Kennedy’s vehicle and there were no injuries.
Drivers in both accidents were cited for failure to maintain control.
