Greene County Development Corporation (GCDC) is having their annual dinner meeting later this week.

Economic Development Director Ken Paxton says the event will be held in The Greene Room at Wild Rose Jefferson on Wednesday.  He points out that because of the amount of work that GCDC did to help bring a new casino to the community, it is appropriate for them to have their yearly event at that location.  Paxton describes what main topics will be covered.

 “We will kind of focus on the fact that during this last year there’s been a lot of new businesses and a lot of things come to completion.  You’ve got the expansion of the hospital, you’ve got Hy-Vee, you’ve got the casino, the hotel (Cobblestone), you’ve got Scranton Manufacturing, you’ve Bauer (Built) facilities up there (in Paton).  And we’ll do a little drone video to show all these that are happening in our county.”

Featured speakers include Wild Rose Chief Operating Officer and President Tom Timmons, Daune Jensen with JCorporation and Paxton will review the year and discuss the next wave of construction projects that are on the horizon.

A social hour will begin at 6pm, followed by the annual meeting at 7pm.  County and city officials, along with GCDC members are invited to the event.
