Heading into the season, ADM football head coach Mike Whisner preached the importance of winning the turnover battle, an area in which the Tigers struggled in 2014.

Those struggles were no moreso apparent than in last year’s home district opener against Dallas-Center Grimes, which the Tigers lost, 7-6, despite turning the ball over five times.

ADM will look to take better care of the football this time around and exact some revenge against the defending district champion Mustangs in Grimes at 7:30 p.m. Friday night.

In terms of valuing the football this year, it’s so far, so good for the Tigers.

Through ADM’s 2-0 start this year – the Tigers first since 2012 — ADM has taken good care of the ball while also forcing turnovers on defense. The Tigers are currently enjoying a +2 turnover margin, with five turnovers forced on defense (three interceptions and two fumble recoveries) and  just three turnovers committed by the offense (two interceptions and one fumble lost).

Our pregame coverage of ADM’s road district contest at DCG begins at 7 p.m. on K107 and raccoonvalleyradio.com.
