The home opener for the Greene County Rams takes place tonight on KG98 and www.raccoonvalleyradio.com when the two teams play non-district football. Coach Dean Lansman’s Rams opened the season on Saturday night with a 42-28 victory in Lake City over Class 1A preseason number nine South Central Calhoun. Kuemper lost to crosstown rival Carroll High on Friday night, 24-7.
Ram senior quarterback started the season with four touchdowns passing another rushing. Four different receivers caught TD passes, and both the number of TD receptions and receivers is a rarity for Jefferson-based teams. It was just the second time since 2012 for a four TD pass game by the Rams and the first in at least five seasons to have four players each catch a ball for a touchdown.
Kuemper managed just 94 yards of offense in its opener while surrendering 477, while the Rams had 315 yards of offense and they allowed 317.
Coverage begins at 6:30 p.m. with kickoff at 7:30 ;.m.
