There’s just a few days left before this year’s school board elections. Signs have popped up around Perry as six candidates look to get enough votes to secure one of three open spots.
Superintendent Lynn Ubben says it’s great to see so many people interested in serving the district.
“It takes a little time to get in there and be a board member and learn more about school districts and school district financing and the (Common) Core (Curriculum), the expectations and the acronyms. But as long as you’re interested in learning more and being a good listener and working as a team. It looks like we have a good group of people that care about kids and their community. So I think that will be fun.”
Tuesday is election day and polls will be open from 7am until 8pm. To get informed on each candidate and what they stand for, you can find interviews with them available for download at RaccoonValleyRadio.com and on our mobile apps.
