The ADM Volleyball team will look to protect home court Thursday evening as the No. 12 Tigers continue their busy week of competition by hosting the annual Tiger Invitational at ADM High’s North Gym. Match play begins at 4 p.m.
Coming off a hard-fought, five-set conference loss to Boone Tuesday night, ADM (4-2, 0-1 RRC) will attempt to get back on the winning trail with matches against Knoxville, Newton, Perry, Norwalk and Woodward-Granger.
Despite a significantly different roster from the past two seasons, Tigers head coach Mary Beth Scott is setting the bar high for her team at its home invite.
“Well, we have won it the past couple of years, so we are certainly trying to achieve that goal,” Scott said. “But we do have some good teams coming in. I’ve seen Norwalk is joining us this year, and they have a very strong team, so that’s going to be a force to be reckoned with on Thursday.”
Norwalk was not included in the most recent Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union Class 4A rankings, and checks in with a record of 6-3. ADM swept the Warriors in three sets in the second round of the 2014 playoffs, though it wasn’t easy: the Tigers won all three sets by four points or fewer.
