The Jefferson Police Department has filed charges against a Jefferson man for burglary.

The accused, 27 year-old Jeremy Ernest Andrews, entered the property and stole several items including digging up and taking a fire pit in the backyard. Later in the day, another resident reported her flag pole and an American flag was taken off of her house in the 700 block of West South Street.
Officers then executed a search warrant on August 17th at Andrews’s home in the 600 block of West Washington Street and recovered most of the stolen items, which also includes a pair of boots, blue jeans, a tool box, the fire pit, along with the flag and flag pole.
Andrews is charged with a Class D Felony for third degree burglary and misdemeanors for fifth degree theft and trespassing.
Once Andrews is arrested, he will be booked into the Greene County Jail.
