Guthrie Center School Board Vice President Tim Benson is wrapping up his first four year term on the Board. He says one of the biggest issues facing the next board will be the prospect of whole grade sharing with Adair-Casey. It’s an issue, he says, that depending on what role in life he’s playing, he has different opinions on. “As a parent, I don’t want to see us merge or do whole grade sharing, but as a board member I see it needs to happen. No one wants it to, but when you’re running out of money, you kind of run out of options. So we’re being proactive and talking to schools and see if we can find a partner to do some sharing with.”

Benson, along with fellow incumbents Keith Buttler and Wanda Knobbe are all running unopposed in Tuesday’s election.
