The Perry Police Department is looking for the public to help provide information on an theft incident Thursday afternoon.
According to Perry Police Chief Eric Vaughn, around 1:20pm Thursday a male victim reported he had a ring, cell phone, pocket knife and bicycle taken from him near West 5th Street and Dewey Street.
While reporting the crime the victim stated he saw the suspects enter the Kum and Go on 1st Street. An officer responded and 23 year-old Matthew Spaulding and 23 year-old Timothy Pittman were both arrested for possession of marijuana, Spaulding’s third offense.
A third possible suspect fled east across 1st Avenue. Additional Perry Police officers and Dallas County Sheriff’s deputies attempted to locate the suspect in the 1200 block of 2nd Street but were unsuccessful.
No charges were filed in connection with the robbery and the investigation continues.
