The Stuart community is mourning the loss of a longtime firefighter. Jake Schwartzkopf, a 40 year veteran of the Stuart Fire Department, passed away Sunday morning at the age of 62. Schwartzkopf was a fixture at community events, including being named King of Scoop the Loop in 2013. Schwartzkopf’s funeral will take place at 10 a.m., Friday at the Stuart Methodist Church.
