The public is invited to one final informational meeting tonight about the $20 million bond referendum for the Greene County Community School District.
Topics that have been covered at the meetings include economic development impacts, financial viewpoints and other details about the bond itself. Following the initial presentation at a recent meeting, Superintendent Tim Christensen, Greene County Economic Development Director Ken Paxton and School Board member Sam Harding addressed the public’s questions and concerns.
Rippey resident Christopher Roberts tells Raccoon Valley Radio about his reaction when he attended Monday’s meeting.
“It gave me a sense of knowing what some of the facts are. I would encourage people to listen to the facts, but I still think they need to make their own decision, based on their own situation.”
While there’s only one informational meeting left, Roberts says people should get as much information as possible before the special election on September 8th.
“Go and seek out places where they can go ahead and find that information, whether it’s on the web, to the radio, to the local newspaper (and) the media. They need to get the facts. Whether they are voting for or against, they need to go ahead and at least have the facts, then they can make a good educated decision.”
Tonight’s meeting will be at the Ram Restaurant at Greene County High School from 6:30 to 8pm.
