A new event in Perry tonight hopes to add to a summer tradition that attracts hundreds.
The inaugural Perry Cruuze takes place this evening in downtown Perry. It includes a car show, music and discounts and local restaurants for car owners.
Organizer Dave Wright says he came up with the event as a way to bring more people to town and really showcase what Perry has.
“That’s the unique thing, there’s no admission to the event, downtown or in the park (for Friday Fest). How many free events like this do you have? It’s a big advantage of living in Perry. If you were going to a big event like this in Des Moines there would be a $5 or $6 admission fee and we’re not charging any admission, we just want people to get out.”
The Cruuze takes place from 6-10pm, along with Friday Fest in Pattee Park with music starting at 6:30pm.
