The West Central Valley School Board of Directors met Wednesday night. The Board approved the hiring of Maggie Weber to teach second grade at Stuart Elementary. Weber is taking over the position from her own second grade teacher, Shonn McDonald. The Board reported that district school buses were safety certified and ready to go mechanically for the school year which begins Monday.

Additionally, the Board approved the resignations of Stuart Elementary teacher Shonn McDonald, part-time nurse Jeri Moore and assistant softball coach Alicia Hanner. Numerous new contracts for part-time coaching positions were approved for the new school year.

The Board approved 9 open enrollment requests. Five out to Adel-Desoto-Minburn, one out to Urbandale, one out to Nodaway Valley and two in to West Central Valley.

The Board ended their meeting watching the first part of an instructional video from the Iowa and Missouri Associations of School Boards. They will finish watching part two of the video at next month’s meeting.
