Two of our Raccoon River Valley locations were recent recipients of matching funds through the state’s Health Care Loan Repayment Program (HPRP).
Jefferson and Guthrie Center, along with 12 other communities, were selected to receive funds to assist in high-need rural areas in attracting and retaining health care professionals. It provides loan repayment benefits to health care professionals who practice in designated high need communities. This year’s recipients include osteopathic doctors, physician assistants, podiatrists and physical therapists.
The total amount of money for this year’s recipients is $544,168. It’s payable for up to four years, with a dollar-for-dollar match.
With the addition of 14 communities, there are a total of 39 throughout the state that utilize the program.
