We don’t know if Greene County High School senior Sunny Mobley’s favorite saying is “variety is the spice of life”, but she demonstrates that phrase when it comes to trying high school sports. Mobley is a first year cross-country runner and she told Raccoon Valley Radio why she decided to give it a try. “I’ve done every sport in high school that girls can do, this is the only one I haven’t done.” Mobley has also been out for track & field, golf, basketball, softball, and volleyball. Those sports, and cross-country, are the ones for girls offered at Greene County high school. Girls at Greene County high wanting to swim go to Boone and those playing soccer travel to Carroll.

Mobley and her teammates open the 2015 cross-country season on Thursday, Aug. 27 in Ames on the Iowa State University course for the Gilbert Invitational.
