There’s still time to register for the annual Greene County Medical Center Foundation golf outing.
Foundation Director Hollie Roberts says the four-person, best shot tournament will be on Friday, at the Jefferson Community Golf Course. Registration begins at 8:30am.
A special putting contest will take place all day, with the winner receiving $50 cash. Door prizes will also be handed out and there are several silent auction items available. Roberts notes that a few of the bigger items include an autographed basketball from Iowa State University, two tickets to Stephens Auditorium with an overnight stay at the Hilton Garden Inn in Ames and some unique Iowa Hawkeye posters.
“One is C.J. Fiedorowicz, and one is Mike Meyer and one is a scene from the Orange Bowl. So they’re just a lot of fun (and) something to have. They’re very unusual (and) something your neighbor is not going to have for sure.”
A lunch and dinner will be provided by the nutritional staff of the medical center.
All proceeds from the fundraiser will go to equipping the new oncology area. Roberts adds that last year, the golf outing raised $10,000 and those funds were dedicated to the hospital’s hospice program.
To register a team or to be a sponsor for the event, contact Roberts at 386-0108 or Renae Dunn at the medical center.
A rain date for the event is Saturday.
