The 2015 ADM varsity volleyball lineup will look quite a bit different than it did last season as Tigers head coach Mary Beth Scott juggles her court combinations in lieu of the loss of five talented seniors from last season’s regional finalist squad.

That means several players who played at one position may be doing something completely different this season.

Luckily for Scott, she has the types of players who are willing to make changes for the betterment of the team. It’s something she preaches throughout every level of the program, and it’s paid major dividends year after y ear.

“And I’ve always talked to them about, you don’t want to always come into a sport and say, ‘I am this one position’ because your team changes and the dynamics change from year to year. It’s really about where does your team need you? My girls have always been very good about, ‘Where do I need to play coach?’ Because they want to play and they want to be successful, and so sometimes you have to ask them to step out of their box a little bit, and sometimes you’re amazed, like ‘Wow, you’ve really progressed in that area.’

“So they’ll go play on a club team and play a completely different position but you’ll come back to a high school team, and you have to do what works for the team.”

ADM opens the season August 25 with a four-team invite at Newton.
