With the high school and college football seasons fast approaching, Raccoon Valley Radio recently caught up with former ADM football standout Gavin Glenn, who enters this fall as a redshirt junior at Division III Coe College in Cedar Rapids.

As profiled on August 6, Glenn took a winding path to Coe having transferred in from Division II University of Minnesota-Duluth, where he never saw the field in live action.

Glenn enjoyed an illustrious high school career, having been named all-state at quarterback his sophomore, junior and senior years. It can be tough for any player to go from top dog to a spectator relegated to the practice squad, but Glenn prefers to focus on the positives of his time spent studying the game from a different perspective.

“There’s those rough patches, but you also learn a lot from being on the sidelines, and you pick up little things here and there, so it wasn’t all bad,” Glenn said. “I’ve learned more on the sidelines, just learning the defenses and what different things they can do, so it’s helped me out.”

The Coe College Kohawks open the 2015 season Sept. 5 at home against Wheaton College.
