With the departure of five graduated seniors from last season, the ADM volleyball Tigers are looking for players to fill a leadership void heading into the swiftly-approaching 2015 season.
Among four current seniors, two played on a regular basis last year: Brennan Hook and Tania Teleford. ADM head coach Mary Beth Scott said she expects both to set a good example.
“Well, you certainly want the to use their senior leadership because they have so much experience, and so you want them to really step up and be mentors and help the younger players,” Scott said. “That’s certainly the case – they both will certainly contribute and they both have different talents, and that’s kind of exciting to be able to use them in different areas.
“You certainly want them to use their voice and to help lead some of these younger players.”
Teleford specialized in serving last season, tying for the team lead with 39 aces. Hook, on the other hand, was an excellent option at setter behind assist leader Marissa Felt, racking up 223 assists.
The Tigers open the regular season August 25 with a four-team invite at Newton.
